This evening, I attended an Arabic dance group in catlett. I mostly watched, but I had a great time! The kids were super nice and very welcoming! I got to ask them a lot of questions, mostly about what the dance was for. They were basically doing Arabic line-dancing, and the leader of the group said it is usually done at parties, weddings, etc. They were all members of the Flagship program, which I learned is a five year program where the members basically learn Arabic language and culture and then study in an Arabic country for a year! They said the program currently sends them to Morocco. I thought that was pretty cool! There were about five students in the dance group, and only 3 of them were Arabic. I also thought that was cool. All in all, I’m really glad I got to watch them!
