My name is Dana Branham, and I’m from College Station, Texas.
I’m often too excited about good journalism, and I love writing and taking photos. Currently, I’m a news reporter for The Oklahoma Daily, OU’s student newspaper. Back home, I started a photography business, taking senior portraits for my friends and classmates and doing real estate photography for my mom and other local real estate agents.
So, when I’m not interviewing or editing photos or lusting over expensive camera equipment, I go to school. Right now, I’m a journalism major. I’m thinking of adding a computer science major as well, because as much as I love writing and interviewing, I love problem-solving. I’m trying to find a way to make all those interests work together.
I applied for the Global Engagement Fellowship program because I’ve always been very interested in languages and communication, and study abroad seemed like the right way to hone those skills. I would love to travel somewhere where I can sharpen my Spanish skills–if by the time I was finished with my study abroad experiences I was fluent in Spanish, I’d be thrilled.
That’s about all I’ve got for now. If you’ve got a question about me or about what I do, feel free to drop me a line.
